The Ethos Phoenix is a premium New Zealand-made freestanding wood fire designed for larger living spaces, open-plan homes, lifestyle blocks, and modern airtight buildings. With powerful 18kW peak heat output, ultra-low emissions, and Ethos' patented EconAir flue technology, the Phoenix delivers serious heating performance while using less wood than many conventional fires.

While it is designed to move heat effectively, the Phoenix still provides excellent radiant warmth up close and features a large viewing window for the classic wood fire atmosphere.
Most wood fires draw combustion air from inside the home, creating cold air movement and reducing heating efficiency. The Ethos Phoenix uses a patented EconAir bi-directional flue system that isolates the fire from the home's internal air supply.
Combustion air is drawn down the outer section of the flue and pre-heated by exhaust gases to over 300°C before entering the firebox. This creates hotter combustion, improved efficiency, lower emissions, and reduced firewood consumption.
Because the fire does not pull warm air from inside the home, the Phoenix avoids the cold draughts commonly associated with traditional wood burners and performs exceptionally well in modern airtight buildings.
Every Ethos Phoenix wood fire is proudly designed and manufactured in Canterbury, New Zealand. Built using robust 5mm steel construction and advanced robotic welding processes, the Phoenix is engineered for New Zealand homes and conditions.
