The Ethos EconAir 4.2m Flue Kit has been specifically designed for Ethos freestanding wood fires and forms a critical part of the unique Ethos heating system. Unlike conventional wood fire flues, the patented EconAir design draws combustion air from outside the building and pre-heats it before it enters the firebox.
This innovative system improves combustion efficiency, reduces emissions, eliminates cold draughts, and allows Ethos wood fires to perform exceptionally well in modern airtight homes.
Patented EconAir Design 4.2m Flue Kit Reduced Draughts Improved Efficiency Airtight Home Compatible Ethos ApprovedUnlike traditional wood fire flues that draw air from inside the home, the Ethos EconAir system isolates combustion air from the dwelling. Fresh air is drawn down the outer section of the flue where it is heated by the exhaust gases travelling up the inner flue.
This pre-heated combustion air enters the firebox at temperatures exceeding 300°C, creating a hotter, cleaner burn with improved efficiency and lower fuel consumption.
The result is greater heat output, reduced smoke emissions, and a more comfortable indoor environment without cold air being drawn into the room.
The standard Ethos EconAir 4.2m Flue Kit includes the major components required for a typical freestanding Ethos wood fire installation.
Additional extensions or installation components may be required depending on roof height, building design, and installation requirements.
