Description

Powerful 1000m³/h kitchen extraction in a stylish 900mm stainless steel canopy rangehood — ideal for larger gas cooktops, freestanding stoves and off-grid kitchens.

Parmco RC9S1000 900mm Stainless Steel Canopy Rangehood

The Parmco RC9S1000 combines powerful 1000m³/h extraction, a classic stainless steel canopy design and simple push-button operation. An excellent choice for removing cooking steam, grease and odours from busy kitchens.

With its generous 900mm width, the RC9S1000 is a natural companion to larger gas cooktops and freestanding stoves, including the Parmco AR 900-GAS GAS-1 full-gas cooker. It is equally at home in rural properties and off-grid kitchens with a suitable AC power supply.

1000m³/h Extraction 900mm Stainless Steel 3 Fan Speeds LED Lighting

Powerful Extraction

With an extraction rating of 1000m³/h, the RC9S1000 helps remove steam, cooking odours and airborne grease from your kitchen.

Simple Push-Button Controls

Choose from three fan speeds to suit your cooking requirements, with straightforward push-button operation.

LED Cooking Lights

Two built-in LED lights illuminate the cooking surface, making food preparation easier while using relatively little power.

Easy-Clean Grease Filters

Removable aluminium grease filters help capture airborne cooking grease and can be cleaned as part of regular maintenance.

Designed for Gas Cooking

Good kitchen ventilation is particularly important when cooking with gas. The Parmco RC9S1000 helps remove cooking fumes, moisture and odours, creating a more comfortable kitchen environment.

Its 900mm canopy makes it a practical match for the Parmco AR 900-GAS GAS-1 freestanding stove and other appropriately sized cooktops.

For gas cooktops, the minimum installation clearance specified for this rangehood is 750mm. For electric cooktops, the minimum clearance is 650mm. Always follow the appliance installation instructions and applicable requirements.

External Ventilation or Recirculation

The RC9S1000 can be installed to extract cooking air outdoors through suitable 150mm diameter ducting. External ducting is generally the preferred arrangement, particularly for gas cooking, because it removes moisture and cooking pollutants from the kitchen rather than returning the air indoors.

Alternatively, the rangehood can operate in recirculation mode using optional Parmco TPC-AT 110 charcoal filters. These help reduce cooking odours but do not replace the benefits of ventilation to the outside.

Installation note: External ducting, wall or roof vents and associated fittings are not supplied with the rangehood. These are normally provided by the installer. Charcoal filters are also sold separately.

Power Consumption & Off-Grid Use

The Parmco RC9S1000 operates on 220–240V AC, 50Hz, making it suitable for an off-grid home with a compatible inverter power system.

The rangehood has a 330W rated motor and two LED lights rated at up to 1.5W each. The combined motor and lighting rating is approximately 333W.

At this rated load, running the fan and lights for one hour would use approximately 0.33kWh of electricity. Half an hour would use approximately 0.17kWh. Actual electricity consumption will depend on fan speed and operating conditions.

For solar-powered homes, it is worth allowing for rangehood consumption when calculating daily household energy requirements. Although the associated stove may use gas, the rangehood itself requires electricity.

Dimensions & Installation

The RC9S1000 features a 900mm wide canopy with a depth of 503mm and canopy height of approximately 245mm. The adjustable chimney section accommodates a range of ceiling heights and installation layouts.

Please refer to the product dimension diagram and Parmco installation instructions before planning cabinetry, wall mounting or ducting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rangehood suitable for a gas stove?

Yes. The RC9S1000 is designed for kitchen ventilation and is a suitable companion to appropriately sized gas cooktops and freestanding stoves, including the Parmco AR 900-GAS GAS-1. Maintain the required minimum clearance of 750mm above a gas cooking surface.

Can I use this rangehood in an off-grid home?

Yes, provided your off-grid electrical system supplies compatible 220–240V AC power. The motor is rated at 330W, with up to 3W additional LED lighting. Allow approximately 0.33kWh for one hour of operation at the combined rated load. Actual consumption may be lower, depending on fan speed.

Does the rangehood need to be vented outside?

External ventilation is recommended where practical, especially for gas cooking. The rangehood can also operate in recirculation mode when fitted with compatible optional charcoal filters. Recirculation does not remove moisture or combustion gases from the home.

What installation accessories are included?

The RC9S1000 uses 150mm diameter ducting for external ventilation. Ducting, external wall or roof vents and associated fittings are not included. These are normally supplied by your installer to suit the kitchen layout.

Which charcoal filters does this model use?

The compatible charcoal filter kit is the Parmco TPC-AT 110. One set contains two filters, which is the quantity required for one rangehood. Charcoal filters are optional extras and are not supplied with the appliance.

Are the grease filters washable?

Yes. The aluminium grease filters are removable and can be cleaned regularly according to Parmco's maintenance instructions. Keeping the filters clean helps maintain effective extraction.

How much electricity does the rangehood use?

The motor has a 330W power rating, with two LED lights rated at up to 1.5W each. At the combined rated load of approximately 333W, one hour of operation would consume around 0.33kWh. Actual consumption varies with fan speed.
