How does the 800W Alternator Charger work with the DELTA Pro 3?
The EcoFlow 800W Alternator Charger uses power from your vehicle's alternator to recharge the DELTA Pro 3 while the vehicle is running. It can provide up to 800W of charging power, making it considerably faster than charging from a conventional 12V vehicle socket.
Do I need the EcoFlow adapter to use the Alternator Charger with the DELTA Pro 3?
Yes. The EcoFlow DELTA Pro to Smart Generator Adapter is required when connecting the 800W Alternator Charger to the DELTA Pro 3.
You don't need to purchase it separately with this bundle – we include the required adapter FREE.
Does the 800W Alternator Charger need to be installed in my vehicle?
Yes. Unlike a standard cigarette-lighter charger, the 800W Alternator Charger connects to the vehicle's electrical system and requires installation and suitable cable routing between the starter battery/alternator system and the charger.
If you're unsure whether it is suitable for your vehicle or how it should be installed, we recommend checking the vehicle and alternator requirements before installation.
Is this a good setup for a motorhome or campervan?
Yes. This combination is particularly well suited to motorhomes, campervans, touring vehicles and mobile off-grid setups. The DELTA Pro 3 provides 4096Wh of storage and 4000W AC output, while the Alternator Charger allows you to put energy back into the battery while travelling.
You can also add solar panels, giving you the option of charging from both your vehicle and solar while you're away from mains power.
Can I charge the DELTA Pro 3 from solar as well?
Yes. The DELTA Pro 3 supports solar charging as well as AC mains, alternator and generator charging. This makes it a very flexible option for off-grid use where you may have several different charging sources available.
Can the DELTA Pro 3 run household appliances?
Yes. With up to 4000W AC output, the DELTA Pro 3 can run a wide range of household and off-grid appliances, including fridges and freezers, kitchen appliances, power tools, pumps, computers and other electrical equipment, provided the connected loads remain within the unit's operating limits.
Can I use the DELTA Pro 3 for home or cabin backup power?
Yes. The DELTA Pro 3 can be used as a substantial portable backup power source for a home, cabin or off-grid property.
If you want to connect it permanently to household circuits or a switchboard rather than plugging appliances directly into the DELTA Pro 3, the installation should be assessed and carried out by a suitably qualified electrician.
Can I add more battery capacity later?
Yes. The DELTA Pro 3 has a 4096Wh base capacity and supports EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 Extra Batteries, allowing the system to be expanded as your power requirements grow.
